Our goal as biblical counselors is to help form habits in the counselee that will last long after we’re done meeting with them.
Prayerlessness is sin, as is the self-sufficient heart attitude of independence that feeds it.
We have opportunities every day to move towards the goal of Christlikeness and pleasing God in all the activities of our day.
We must learn to diligently hide God’s Word in our hearts, to be watchful in prayer, and to stay in the protection of the church.

God regularly and predominantly uses our habits to bring about greater spiritual maturity.
Hearing and obeying God’s Word provides incredible blessings for the one who does so.
When we remember that all human effort lies prostrate before the throne of God’s providence, we’ll strive in prayer.

When a believer is walking in the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and keeping in step with the Spirit, the Spirit of God produces self-control in that person.
