We want to see Jesus come to life in our counselees and manifest His life through them as they more and more die to self.
We need to get to know God in all of His attributes, so that we can understand Him better. We need to get to know His will, in His ways, how He thinks about things, what His great worldview and perspective is of everything, so that we begin to see things as God sees them.
God’s unchanging strategy for the believer’s ministry is to stand on the glorious, inexhaustible, and sufficient Word of God.
One can trust fully in the sufficient Spirit and Word of God in every element of counseling.
As we think about how to counsel flatterers, we should also make sure we never become flattering counselors.
