The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) currently has over 300 mental disorders that are presented as objective, scientific biomedical disorders. This booklet aims to equip believers and biblical counselors with a clearer understanding of mental disorder diagnoses, clarifying what a mental disorder diagnosis entails and what it does not. This understanding will help believers critically evaluate the claims made by the mental health complex.
Jenn Chen is an ACBC-certified counselor who earned her MABC at The Master’s University (TMU). Prior to becoming a biblical counselor, she was licensed as a clinical psychologist in 2002 after obtaining her PsyD in Clinical Psychology and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy.
