Biblical Counseling Achievement Award

ACBC honored four individuals with the 2016 Biblical Counseling Achievement Award.

Nov 1, 2016

During our 2016 Annual Conference, ACBC honored four individuals with the Biblical Counseling Achievement Award. This is a distinguished award that is given to men and women who have made invaluable contributions to the biblical counseling movement. Past recipients include Dr. John MacArthur (2014) and Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr. (2015). This year the recipients were Betty Jane Adams, Carol Mack, Nan Powlison, and Mildred Goode. ACBC recognizes that these women have made countless sacrifices and contributions to the battle for the sufficiency of Scripture in counseling that will be largely unknown by those who do not know them personally. We desire to honor these godly women and recognize that the health of the biblical counseling movement today can be directly attributed to these women who have served alongside their husbands so graciously and faithfully.

After receiving this award, Nan Powlison graciously shared a poem with us at the conference. We would love to share this with all who were not able to attend the conference.

Draw Me Into You Lord

Rough me in and draw me
Sketch me and erase me
Sketch me and erase me
Trace me positive
In negative space
Balanced
Composed
Defined
By shades and shadows
A light design
Then fling me out
A cross your page
Bold strokes for service
‘til they see
Your face in mine
Draw me Lord

We are thankful to the Lord for each of these women and may they stand as faithful examples to all of us of humble servants in the Kingdom of God, and may their lives spur us on in love and good deeds.
