His addition to our leadership team will propel our striving to make disciples of Christ and our equipping them to apply the word of God to their life and the lives of others. We are thrilled God has allowed him to join us in ministry here.”
Lambert currently serves as Executive Director at the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Even as Lambert departs Louisville Kentucky for this post he will continue serving in his leadership role at ACBC, and will remain a faculty member at Southern Seminary and Boyce College.
Dr. R. Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary had this to say of the transition:
“Heath Lambert is a man of very rare gifts, deep conviction, and massive pastoral commitment. He will serve well as he assumes this new position in ministry at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville. We are pleased that he will continue to teach for Southern Seminary and Boyce College even as he assumes this strategic role in one of America’s great churches.”
In announcing this transition, Lambert said, “I am thrilled at the opportunity to return to pastoral ministry and to do so at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Florida. This is a great and historic church in the United States whose best days are still ahead. I cannot wait to join this magnificent team. In particular I am excited to do this while remaining in my leadership role at ACBC and while still having opportunities to teach at Southern Seminary and Boyce College, an institution I greatly love.”
