Earlier this week the trustees at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary voted to elect Dale Johnson to their faculty as associate professor of biblical counseling.

Oct 19, 2018

I have some exciting news to share with you. Earlier this week the trustees at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS) voted to elect me to their faculty as associate professor of biblical counseling. Part of the excitement is that MBTS is making a program change to biblical counseling. In the Spring of 2019 my family and I will relocate to Kansas City to begin work on building a new curricula for biblical counseling degrees.

One of my great passions is to see biblical counseling grow in our churches. A primary way in which that influence grows is through training pastors in theological education, equipping them to lead their churches to participate in biblical soul care. I would ask that you join me in thanking God for this opportunity for biblical counseling to be taught in another seminary, but I also ask that you join me in praying that God would grant more institutions of theological education that are favorable to teaching biblical counseling as part of their curriculum.

The move will not change any portion of my responsibility to lead ACBC. As a part of my transition to Kansas City, the location of MBTS, we have plans to move the ACBC offices from their current location in Jacksonville, FL. Heath has been and continues to be a great support to me in the transition. He is gracious to offer continued space to ACBC as long as we need. The office move will not be immediate and I will work with the staff to accommodate their particular circumstances as they plan to transition to Kansas City as well.

I want you to know how grateful I am for each of you and the way that you serve the Lord. I know that you will join me in prayer for the move and continue to ask the Lord to grant wisdom in our work at ACBC so that Christ may be glorified.

Thank you for praying,

Dale Johnson
